Update: 1.5yrs later and I bring everyone here :) the new menu is so cute and everything is amazing! Yes service can be a little slow but it’s the owners themselves at our parents’ age running the whole show, cooking and waiting tables and answering calls and packing deliveries. They’re working their butts off so chill out and have some patience if you go! Original review: Pasteur pho is my new ride or die. Never had a broth so delicious in my entire LIFE. Yes it’s slightly oily but I couldn’t give a hoot because DANG I’ve been searching my whole life for a bowl of pho this good. The restaurant works so hard on the broth and it shows. Don’t you dare touch the hoisin or chili sauce before you get a taste of this beautiful broth on its own. My Viet friends agreed Pasteur pho is the real deal. The owners are SOOOOO nice and many of the recipes are straight from the family. Pasteur doesn’t get as much traffic as other Viet spots right next door but it’s got so much history (first and oldest viet restaurant in Manhattan Chinatown!) and deserves your immediate attention, COVID has hit them pretty hard and they need your love ❤️❤️❤️ spring rolls delicious too and they’re known for their shaken beef stir-fry. Credit cards accepted and very spacious outdoor dining setup. You won’t regret going!

I recently returned after a few years away. For several years Pasteur Grill & Noodles was my go to Vietnamese food. I was happy to see the same staff from my many visits over 25 years. I brought a friend who was craving spices (she lives in France). I had Pho and it was plentiful as always. The broth was good but a bit too salty for me. Considering how most restaurants over salt food I’m sure it’s average. My friend loved her crab and tofu soup. I

I had the Bún Bò Húê and the xoi dessert. The soup was sweeter than I was use to and the xoi was more subtle than I was use to. After I called and asked my parents, they explained to me that this is Southern Vietnamese style cooking! Great service, enormous portions, and good prices!

This is the third review I've written for Pasture's and I'll gladly write one everytime I go....which I do, everytime I'm in New York. The staff is warm and welcoming, the place is extremely well maintained and it takes a lot of stress off to know that no matter what I order, it's going to be delicious. It's become a tradition for me to make this place my first stop off the plane. A fantastic place to eat drink and have some EXCELLENT food!

Tried it once, Def not coming back. Service was haphazard. The servers didn't bring out basic things like the alp alpha plate and utensils until asked. The service was super slow. Food was blah at best. I ordered the Vietnamese crepe, crispy spring rolls, and shaken beef cubes with tomato rice. Everything was under seasoned. The crepe rice was undercooked. The bill was $81 with tax and tip. My buddy ordered the noodles... This is not the spot for me.

Their Pho is just FABULOUS!! The owner is also super nice and friendly. The price is very reasonable and the portion is great (hard to find in a city like NYC). Love love love

First time I tried eating from this restaurant, I thought to myself, "Wow..." Just pure speechless-ness. The meat was both juicy and tender, that you have to enjoy and savor the taste once you take a first bite out of it. The balance of the well cooked white rice, and the burst of flavor from the meat, as well as the vegetables added, makes for a delicious comforting meal. Definitely worth the try for anyone looking to try good Vietnamese food.

I don’t usually post reviews, but this hidden gem was too empty during Saturday lunch. I really hope that they can stay around for longer. Ordered 3 things, 1. Kinda a pho but those are glass noodles. The soup is the best pho soup I’ve ever had. It’s really fresh and the owner is very generous with their ingredients. You might want to skip the pork liver if you’re not a big fan of internal organs. But it’s a 5/5 to me 2. It’s a seafood crepe. They prob made it with coconut in the crepe which gives it a unique flavor in the crepe. Never had it anywhere else. 5/5 again 3. Claypot rice. 4/5. Unique flavor with a bit sweet. Very generous with all the ingredients as well.
