Yên Hidden Valley - Cat Ba

The surrounding landscape is very quiet. He was rock climbing on a cliff in the distance. The landscaping of the accommodation is very well maintained. The rooms are also clean and great. However, we do not recommend BBQ provided by the accommodation. The meat smelled a lot, and it wasn't cooked properly. Breakfast is fine.

We had a wonderful stay in a comfortable suit with a kitchen and super nice bed. We enjoyed making a few simple meals there but also ordered from their fantastic restaurants at times. We preferred staying further away from the town but a downside is the cost of the taxi to town every time (approx 180 000 VND / approx 7USD for 1 way) but to us it was worth it although the accommodation is on the pricy side for Vietnam. They also rent motor bikes which we used for 1 day to explore but we did not feel comfortable driving them in the dark so sometimes a taxi may be necessary if you are planing on any longer boat tours that end after dark. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would return especially if the weather was warmer and we could utilize the pool.

We had an AMAZING stay in Yen Hidden Valley. It’s a beautiful and quiet place, perfect to relax for a couple of days. It is quite far from the center, but that is no problem at all because the owner will drive you everywhere you want. It beeing Cat Ba Town, the harbour to do a boat tour or some sightseeing. This highlights, how incredibly nice and helpful the whole staff, especially Ania and Mr Phoung are. Thank you for everything, we will definitely be back if we ever visit Cat Ba again.

We stayed at Yen Hidden Valley for 5 days. The stay has been a highlight of our trip to Vietnam, and we highly recommend to anyone visiting Cat Ba Island. Chang and her husbond (the owners) were really welcoming and helpful. E.g. with arranging day trips to experience the bay and national park, and transporting to and from these activities. In addition to the nice bungalows, the view of the Butterfly Valley, and the refreshing pool, the hotel also provides great breakfast and serves freshly cooked meals for both lunch and dinner. 10/10 would visit again! :-)

The location was stunning, hidden away from all the other tourists and party goers. Having your own vehicle is recommended as it's really quite hidden. You are surrounded by fields, mountains and animals. It's just a few cabins around a pool but boy does it work! It's well maintained, there are plenty of interesting options on the menu too, I enjoyed the breakfast pancakes and peanut coffee. Cherry on top was the fire pit and wood for a bonfire. One thing to keep in mind: the cabins and beds are quite small. We were fine but in case you are not too close with the other person, consider vooking two. the hot water runs out quickly so do wait between two ppl taking a shower.

We spent an amazing time at this place ! The food was amazing. The place is peaceful calm and so beautiful. Moreover, it's only 15 minutes away from Cat ba Center by scooter. And finally the owner was very nice and available for all questions and requests we had. A big thank you for the service. I 100% recommend this place to anyone who wish to have a good time in Cat Ba 😉

Absolutely amazing homestay run by the most wonderful family. The bungalows are super modern and comfy, the free breakfast and food options are top notch, and the perks of staying here for rock climbing are unparalleled anywhere on the island. The nearby Butterfly Valley crag is the most developed climbing area on the island, so we were mostly interested in booking this place for the location (5 min walk to the crag). Thanks to the owner, we had so much extra fun scootering down to Cat Ba town in the evenings for dinner and drinks. If you are a climber this is undoubtedly the best place to stay when you are in Cat Ba. Even if you are just on the island for relaxation, this place is as good as it gets. We had the best 6 nights here and can’t wait to come back here on future Vietnam trips.

Excellent villa in the middle of a national park. Despite the fact that the villa is located far from the city, the staff of the villa fully ensured a comfortable stay. The staff organized our transfer and all excursions. Also, we did not have to go to the city to eat, as there is an excellent restaurant on the territory of the villa.
