It's criminal that this hotel doesn't have a perfect 5-star score. This is the most luxurious hotel I have ever stayed at. You feel like royalty from the moment you step into the foyer. The staff have such a warmth, professionalism and elegance to their manner. The breakfast is the best I have ever eaten. It takes a good five minutes just to decide what to eat because there's just that many choices on offer... fine cheeses, pho, crepes, an entire bakery section, eggs your way, salads, smoothies and juices, desserts etc. This hotel is next level. The price you pay is very good value compared to the service you receive. Highly recommended 👌

This has been the best stay by far in our 4 weeks in Vietnam! Truly worthy of 5 stars and a luxurious oasis. A magnificent place with grandeur, outstanding service, impeccable rooms, all amenities you could need, and very good food. Located off the main road and hidden away from the mass tourist beaches, the hotel offers spectacular views of the iconic limestone rising from the sea, as well as the small, clean, and beautiful beach on its doorstep. The room (superior room, 9th floor) was spacious, with a lovely interior design, panorama window/view on the sea as well as mountains, and balacony. The staff was extremely attentive, whilst making sure to protect your privacy and not disturb. Absolutely nothing to improve during our stay. Special highlights are the 2 pools with unique views each and the first class gym! A heavy gym goer, I was thrilled by the quality and range of equipment, unrivalled for a hotel gym!
The hotel is beautiful and luxurious, with a beautiful view of the sea and direct access to a very lovely and clean beach. The facilities are good and the decor of the entire hotel is amazing. The food at Indochine Restaurant was also excellent. My compliments to the dinner service team in Indochine Restaurant - they were very friendly, helpful, and we always had a lovely time dining there. The hotel is located in a quiet and private part of the town centre, and it is about a 15 minutes’ walk to the rest of the shops, market and restaurants. However, the service generally (besides the dinner team at Indochine Restaurant) was subpar and unbefitting of a five-star hotel. When I was being checked in and waiting to receive my room keys, a guest cut in and started asking the receptionist questions, and the receptionist entertained this guest instead of asking the guest to wait their turn. The service team was also generally unfriendly and sometimes, just seemed rude. The service at the pool bar was consistently poor - the staff member would not approach you with the menu and we had to go up to them to ask. When we asked to order a drink / get the bill, they would not even look at us or say anything in reply. The staff’s attitude was like they were upset that we were ordering drinks from them. Despite placing an emphasis on sustainability, the hotel also only allows guests to receive a maximum of 4 bottles of filtered water per room, and told us we would have to buy bottles of water if we needed more. This seems odd when the bottles of water are refillable and we are paying five-star prices for the room. Lastly, when we checked out and were in a rush to catch our bus, the receptionist stopped us, on the pretext that they were checking if we left any belongings behind. However, they were really checking if we had taken any items from the hotel, and eventually asked us to pay VND 170,000 for a pair of hotel slippers and laundry bag we took. We found this unbefitting of a five-star hotel - we did not appreciate that the receptionist misled us into thinking they were checking whether we had left anything behind (as if we were children they had to deceive), and we have never experienced a five-star hotel that asks you to pay for the hotel slippers and laundry bag. Overall, while the hotel is beautiful, has a lovely view of the sea and direct access to a beautiful beach, the service and their treatment of guests left much to be desired.
One of the most beautiful hotels in Vietnam!!!The indochina decoration is super impressive and awesome! The views of the karst hills, the sea, the beach and the sunrise, which can be seen from the balcony, are truly gorgeous! The staff are helpful and attentive. Especially the housekeepers who bring the night snacks every night are female, not like in some other hotels are male, this is friendly for the single female guest, I truly felt secure. What’s more, the food provided is great and the spa is even better than imagined! Frankly speaking, this is the perfect hotel, which I would like to stay more than once!!!
Excellent experience! Pro: - Decoration: one of the rare hotels in Vietnam that has a theme ( I think ) , like it is telling you a story, not just putting random old stuff together to make it look vintage or retro. I love the theme of this hotel, it makes me feel like walking into another whole world. Like living back in the 70s era. Or maybe I'm just too cheesy. I also love the unique scents. - Food: The dinner buffet is by far the best one I've ever had in 5 stars hotels and resorts in Vietnam. But the breakfast buffet is a lot fewer choices. Could be improved. - Bed: So comfy, I had a good night's sleep. - Services: all the staff I met were super polite and professional to me. - Very quiet, perfect for a getaway and reboot. Cons: - I wish they have their own electric tourist car from the hotel to help take customers to places in Cat Ba. It's such a hassle going to places because It is always too burning hot to walk, too near to call a taxi and normally the receptionist will call another electric tourist car service but they are very rude and only want to drive a big tour group to get more money. - A giant roach chases me in the bathroom in the middle of the night.
I had a truly restful and relaxing stay at the Perle d'Orient. My room was very comfortable and well-appointed, and the bed in particular was very comfortable. The view from my balcony of the bay coupled with the quiet was exactly what I was looking for. I used the spa a few times, and the massages were perfect, and helped dispel a lot of accumulated work stress. The staff were helpful, but it would have been easier to be able to communicate more easily - many staff members could only speak Vietnamese with comfort and were out of their depth with English. That is perfectly understandable in Vietnam - but this is an international hotel so a level of fluency in English seems reasonable to expect.
We stayed for 2 nights. Everything was perfect, from the check in till the check out. We stayed in a deluxe room and it was very spacious and the view was amazing. The staff was very helpful and very kind. The food was amazing and reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel. We ate sushi at akoya and it was perfect. The chef was also very nice. We spoke with the manager and he was also very nice. He talks a lot about everything. In the evening we sat at the pool with some cocktails and at night we drank some cocktails at the bar in the lobby. We will be back soon!
