Ma Tam's small bubble tea stall is set up in front of the parking lot of CoopMart Nguyen Kiem supermarket. She usually does not finish setting up her display until nearly 1 PM. Ma Tam milk tea is made very simply: just sugar syrup, black tea, and condensed milk. Toppings are also completely homemade, including black pearls, coconut jelly, water chestnut jelly, pomelo rind jelly (they use the white spongy part), and cheese jelly cubes. Every drink costs the same, VND 30.000. I bought a cup of milk tea that was overflowing with toppings, it looked more like a cup of dessert. Despite not being very friendly, the owner clearly cares about her customers. She gave me a separate small ice pack to keep the drinks cool for my trek to District 2.
