The Big Man - Cat Ba 3 times in 2 days. Yes, You heard that right. In a small coastal area with wonderful Vietnamese food all around and I’m enjoying Italian delicacies. The Pizza and Pesto Pasta were fantastic, but to be honest, it was the ambiance and vibe of the out door patio that drew me. On my feet all day traveling, I just needed a moment to myself. As I sat down to relax and enjoy the sunset, a wave of ease settled over me. I took a deep breath, smiled and when I opened my eyes I was staring at Me. Well, a waitress named My (pronounced Me). She was pleasant, welcoming and never pushy. “I like this place I thought to myself “… Along with my Pizza, I ordered an Apple Cinnamon Tea. An Uncommon menu item in my travels. This was my favorite treat. I actually ordered it 4 times (a second one to go on my last day!). And while the Tea and food encouraged me to linger for a time, it was the staff that forged the experience that I will never forget. (My, Mai and Me). They were so welcoming, kind and patient with me. They even gave me a large bag of ice to take home for self care, as I had been injured a few days earlier. On my third and final visit, I finished my meal, thanked the staff, packed up my pleasant memories and stepped back onto the open road. I never Met Mr Big himself, but I will forever be grateful for the joy his family brought to my life.
