Kiku Japanese BBQ Restaurant 3.5 stars ** Location - an approximately 8 minute taxi ride from our hotel, Crowne Plaza City Center Vinh Yen. (3.2km) Visit - We visited on Monday, May 12, 2025 at around 5:30pm. When we first arrived, we were the only guests. About halfway through our meal, one other table was occupied. WiFi - yes Restaurant - clean, nicely appointed space; guests remove shoes at the table, and then swing legs over the low wall boxing the table in. Square seat cushions provided for comfort. **Unfortunately, they allow smoking inside this restaurant, which was the reason this place didn’t earn higher stars (guests at another table lit up). Menu - lots to choose from, with English and photos (very helpful!) Food - served quickly & at appropriate temperatures; good Staff - professional, attentive, we used Google Translate to convey specifics Price - we paid 772,200 dong ($30 US) for wakame salad, 2 orders of edamame, 3 orders of gyoza, a fried chicken curry dish with rice, and 2 waters. I went there for the gyoza, but was a bit disappointed in them and the sauce, sadly. Everything else was tasty. Recommend - if this place is in your budget and you don’t mind cigarette smoke, check them out. Recommendation to the restaurant owner - please do not allow smoking indoors. Besides 2nd hand smoke being unhealthy and stinking up the place while we’re trying to enjoy our meal, it gets in my hair and clothes. **This would have easily been a 4.5 star experience without the smoking.
