this place sells sooo many kinds of books and vietnamese-style souvenirs, plus there are lots of really good deals too 🧾! you can also just walk around, enjoy the atmosphere, or take photos 📸... but it gets super crowded on weekends, so weekdays are way nicer and more chill 😉~ it’s also really close to Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica and Saigon Central Post Office, so you can stop by those places for photos and sightseeing too 🏛️💛!

A 100-meter-long lane running from Nguyễn Văn Bình Street to the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. Lined with trees, flowers, and benches, it offers a quiet, literary-focused escape. · Bookshops: Houses about 20 permanent bookstalls and shops offering a wide range: new Vietnamese literature, translated classics, academic texts, foreign-language books, comics, and beautiful postcards. · Café Culture: Interspersed with cozy cafés and juice bars where you can sit, read your new purchase, and watch the world go by. · Cultural Hub: Often hosts book launches, author signings, calligraphy exhibitions, and literary events, especially on weekends. · Architecture: Features some well-preserved French colonial-era villas that house the bookshops, adding to its picturesque feel. Visitor Experience: It's less about finding rare bargains and more about the experience of browsing in a serene, dedicated space. It's perfect for a slow 30-60 minute stroll, picking up a souvenir book, enjoying a coffee, and soaking in the intellectual and artistic vibe. It's a must-visit for book lovers and a pleasant stop for anyone exploring the city's central sights. Near to Saigon Post office and Norte Dame cathedral.
I actually came here twice - once in the day time and once at night. I found it more busy in the daytime but the string lights are nice at night. The shops will begin closing up at 9 so definitely allocate some time to explore. Great stop to make for some window shopping for books, grabbing a cup of coffee, or buying art/souvenirs.
Soooooo lovely vibe. Everyone should be here but I recommend you guys come Saturday & Sunday because Mon-Fri seems quiet and few open store and book collection
The vibrant energy is so cool. I like that can found many books in a foreign language. Also if are looking for a souvenir or a handmade painted this is the place
Đường Sách (Book Street) is a brilliant and beautiful oasis for the mind, right in the heart of bustling Saigon. This charming, pedestrian-only lane is a testament to the city's deep love for literature and culture. Lined with quaint, independent bookstores and cozy cafes under a canopy of trees, it offers a perfectly peaceful escape from the urban frenzy just steps away. The magic lies in its atmosphere. It's a serene space where locals and visitors alike browse shelves, read quietly on benches, or enjoy a coffee surrounded by the quiet hum of intellectual life. The book selection is impressive, featuring everything from classic Vietnamese literature and contemporary novels to stunning art books and international titles.
