Tucked into the lively maze of the Old Quarter in Hanoi, Pizza Bella has built a reputation as a go to for those craving a taste of Italy in northern Vietnam. I am a hard sell when it comes to Neapolitan pizza outside of Naples. There is something about the water, the sunshine, and the hearts of the pizzaioli in Naples that feels impossible to replicate. So I walked in curious but cautious. To be fair, I left impressed considering how far we were from Napoli. The dough was not bad at all. It had a decent chew and some blistering on the crust. The sauce, however, missed the mark for me. A classic Margherita sauce should taste sun kissed and gently sweet, almost bright with restrained acidity. Here, it leaned a little too acidic and did not quite carry that natural tomato softness. The cheese also fell short of expectation. It did not have the milky, clean flavor or supple texture I associate with good mozzarella, which slightly muted the overall harmony of the pie. The garlic bread was pleasant and comforting, though I would have welcomed a more pronounced buttery garlic presence. The red pesto was my favorite element of the meal. It added depth and a savory richness that felt confident and well balanced. The kombucha was surprisingly one of the best I have tasted. It was not overly fermented or vinegary, and the gentle hint of fruit came through in a way that felt joyful and refreshing. By Vietnam standards, this place is expensive, but I can understand the novelty and the imported ingredient factor. We waited about 45 minutes for a table and ended up getting a massage nearby to pass the time, which felt very Old Quarter chic. While it may not transport you fully to Naples, it offers a respectable interpretation for those craving a slice of Italy in Hanoi.

There are actually many pizzerias in Hanoi that serve good pizzas, and this is one of them. Seats are readily available although there are many tables already occupied. We took the balcony seats on the second floor, and ordered 2 pizzas to try. Really enjoyed the Pesto with burrata cheese, the pesto pasta was flavourful that goes very well with burrata cheese. The pizza dough is pretty thin in the middle and the crust was chewy and I love that very much.
The food here is out of this world. We've been here so many times I've lost count. Their pizzas are outstanding, the carbonara is so delicious and all the salads were great. They have so many vegetarian options it's incredibly inclusive Service is attentive and polite. And they're super kids friendly. We'll definitely be back
Wow, what a pizza! This reminded me of being back in Napoli! This truly was one of the best pizzas I have had while in Vietnam! It was perfectly crusted and the dough was great. They make all their stuff handmade and it’s all fresh from Vietnam so I love that. Overall this place was amazing and I definitely recommend it the Parmesan crusted croquettes were amazing, but the pizza was stood out. I definitely will be back.
I have been twice here. First time, I had a pizza: it can be done better but good overall. It is crispy outside and soft inside as soon as you have the first slice. Then, it becomes a bit chewy. The second time, I had salad with octopus and montanara (parma ham). Better you skip the salad if you would be up for it: the octopus was gummy rubber. Montanara (fried pizza dough) was fine and better than pizza since it was not oily, surprisingly. Heads up: panuozzo is only for lunch time.
The hot honey pizza is out of this world!! I would rank it in my top 10 favorite pizzas of all time. It’s perfectly cooked, flavors are well balanced between Smokey, salty, spicy, and sweet. We came here twice and were very impressed with the meal, service, and atmosphere.
Best pizza in town with unique flavor. Love their homemade pesto sauce. Salad is very fresh
