The crocked tamarind is our least preferred due to not much “flesh” to eat. We love steam snail and lemongrass clam! Their in house green sauce is amazing and with the help of menu and price transparency is a bonus! 3 pax 3 seafood dishes with 0.5kg 4Hanoi draft beer and a bottle Saigon beer cost S$32.

This no frills local seafood spot was legit. We ordered snails, cuttlefish, and razor clams + 3 beers and water which came to a total of 750,000 dong. The snails in butter garlic were super delicious and fresh. The razor clams in basil, peanuts, and fried shallots were also super tasty. The bbq cuttle fish was overcooked and chewy which is the reason for 4* but I would definitely come back and try their other dishes. There is indoors and outdoors, we opted for a more local experience outdoors sitting on the usual small plastic stools with some pretty good people watching around. It's common for people to share tables as there's limited seating.
Let me tell you about the best seafood restaurants in the old quarter. We had delicious tiger prawn shrimp in tamarind sauce as well as what I believe to be razor clams they call them bamboo clams. The atmosphere is on a corner street which gives good indoor seating but most people use the outdoor seating which gives the old quarter ambiance as people walk by. We went for a second time and ordered the flavor explosion garlic butter crab with french fries an oysters steamed oyster omelette definitely the spot you must try in the old quarter.
We tried the clams and oysters — they were incredibly fresh and juicy. Highly recommended! Personally, I felt the prices were a bit higher compared to local stalls, but the quality and freshness made it well worth it, especially as a tourist. We especially loved the fried onions and even asked the stall where they got them from — they kindly shared the shop’s location. The service was very friendly, and we’ll definitely come back next time we’re in Hanoi.
Despite all my Old Quarter dislike this restaurant is worth eating in. The grilled tiger prawns were delicious, fresh and barbecue oysters were perfect for the price, fried rice was tasty. Good place to try razor clams for the first time for me. The best thing was their special sauce for seafood. I was very close to buying it for home.
Quán đông nhưng không quá ồn. Hải sản tươi, món ăn ổn định, ăn nhiều lần vẫn thấy ngon.
Không gian bình dân nhưng sạch. Hải sản tươi, giá hợp lý, phù hợp ăn uống thoải mái không cần quá sang trọng.
It’s located in old town bar street, relaxing but chaotic. The seafood is expensive, I came here for snail, but all sold out at around 08:30pm, and giant shrimps all sold out as well. Then I ordered the another type of shrimp, 3 pieces at 9 USD, but only 1 piece was amazingly satisfactory, other 2 were a bit small. Things other than seafood is cheap, Saigon beer only 1USD, fried rice and tofu was 1-2 USD each. Taste was okay for that price. Total cost was 480,000 Vietnam dun.
